Our culture, our identity! Our identity, our right!
Ek Potlee Ret Ki Archive
Untold Stories
Our archive is a one-of-a-kind repository of cultural memory, built over a decade of deep, ethical engagement across some of the subcontinent’s most remote and marginalised regions. While collectivising with indigenous, traditional, nomadic, occupational, and minority communities, we co-developed a unique documentation process grounded in an ethical framework; ensuring consent, reciprocity, and non-extractive use of material. The archive spans over 900 hours of recorded footage, 5,000+ digital images, written narratives, case studies, and fact-finding reports, and houses curated collections of photographs, films, crafts, and other living items. These experiential narratives work to de-stigmatise identities and ignite a collective conscience. None of the stories or voices are used for commercial purposes; all usage for education, awareness, advocacy, or small-scale stakeholder fundraising follows clear community-approved guidelines. The archive is accessible to researchers, policymakers, campaigners, and community members alike. Documentation is a non-negotiable part of our practice, and all interns are trained in this framework as part of their engagement with the collective.
Curated Collections
Featuring audio, visual, tactile and living material our documentation-based installations are designed as travelling, experiential exhibitions that bring alive the stories, struggles, and cultural resilience of marginalised communities.
These exhibitions are often accompanied by workshops and interactive activities led by community elders and traditional practitioners - ranging from storytelling and puppetry to treasure hunts and trivia games - designed to deepen the viewer’s experience through intergenerational and embodied learning.
Adaptable to museums, schools, community centres, and public forums, they reflect our collective’s commitment to cultural justice and transformative education.
